Psalm 32: 1-2

Psalm 32: 1-2
1 Blessed is he
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the man
whose sin the LORD does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceit.

Father God,
I rejoice and celebrate your blessed forgiveness. Thank you my sins are covered with the precious and perfect blood of the Lamb. I am ecstatic that you don’t keep a record book of my wrong doings. No single book would be big enough. Thank you Lord for your infinite mercy and making me righteous through your Son – the perfect atoning sacrifice for my sin.

Father, I will quit denying my guilt and live honestly before you. I will humbly admit when I am wrong and come before you with a broken and contrite heart seeking your pardon. You say if I confess my sins, you are faithful and just and will forgive me and purify my heart from all unrighteousness. Therefore, I will let go of the guilt and BELIEVE that I am completely forgiven, the slate is wiped clean, I’ve been given a fresh start, and my heart has been made squeaky clean. Daily, I will lay my sins at the foot of the cross where grace and mercy abound, in exchange for the joy of sweet fellowship with you, my Redeemer and Friend. Amen.

Be honest with God today about your sin, confess it, and experience the joy of forgiveness through Christ.

Matthew 18: 21-35

21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"

22Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

23"Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him. 25Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26"The servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.
28"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

29"His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.’

30"But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32"Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart." NIV

Jesus, My Master and King~
Thank you for teaching me about your infinite forgiveness this week. Your deep and inconceivable grace is the perfect model for forgiveness. I will strive to follow your example. My debt is so great. I could never repay it. The only thing I deserve is a hot seat in hell, but in your abounding mercy and tremendous pity, you forgave my debt, completely canceling it, stamped it FORGIVEN, and set me free. Thank you Jesus for paying it back in full at the cross. I’m sorry that I forget the magnitude of what you’ve done for me. I am so unworthy of the liberty you’ve given me.

I have not always been as benevolent or lenient with those who have offended me. There have been times when I’ve refused to forgive. I’ve held grudges and sought revenge. Bitterness and hatred grew in my heart like weeds with long indestructible roots. My life was corrupt because I failed to embrace the principle of grace. By refusing to forgive I missed opportunities to experience the joy of my salvation.

Please dear Lord, continue to shine your light on my heart. Search for any areas of bitterness caused by unforgiveness. When you expose them I will obey and go to the one who has hurt me or whom I have hurt and seek heartfelt forgiveness. I will learn to forgive from my heart every time I think of a painful incident, repeatedly, seven times seventy.

Please give me more insight to turn my spirit of bitterness into a spirit of forgiveness. Show me ways to demonstrate love and acceptance to those who have wronged me. Take my difficult situations and use them to advance the gospel and further your kingdom. Use them to conform me to be like Jesus. I just need increasingly more grace to respond like the Master with amazing patience, astonishing mercy, and absolute forgiveness. Amen

Whom are you finding it difficult to forgive? Ask God to show you how to turn your bitterness into forgiveness. Ask Him to show you how you can demonstrate love and acceptance to the person who has hurt you.

Luke 17: 1-5

1Jesus said to his disciples: "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. 2It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. 3So watch yourselves.

"If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. 4If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him." NIV

5The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for speaking to my heart about the issue of sin today. Because we live in a fallen world surrounded by all kinds of evil and temptation we are bound to sin. Sometimes I’m the victim, other times I set the trap.

O righteous God, who searches hearts and minds, search me and point out any offensive way in me. Shine your light on my heart and reveal my weaknesses and vulnerabilities so the traps that have been set for me will not lure me in.

Help me to know the weaknesses and vulnerabilities of my family and friends so that I will not lure them into temptation. Please keep me from using my knowledge, experience, power and authority to take advantage of those who are weaker and more susceptible than me. I must be careful and watch myself so that I don’t become the trapper. I fear the horrible consequences when my actions cause someone to fall into the trap of sin. Woe to me! It will not be pretty or fun.

Jesus, teach me to speak the truth in love with great patience and careful instruction to my brothers and sisters so that they will grow up in Christ. Help me to receive correction graciously so that I will mature as a believer. Guard my heart from the sin of unforgiveness. It causes bitterness, anger, resentment, and division to grow up and choke out my spirit, and the spirit of the other party. It’s not easy to forgive. Daily I will lay my unforgiving spirit at the foot of the cross – seven times a day, or more, if necessary so that I can live outside Satan’s snare. You also say that if I forgive others, you will forgive me, but if I do not forgive others, then you will not forgive me.

Father, I want to be in your grip of grace so please just give me more of Jesus so that I can be on guard against all kinds of sin, but especially the sin of unforgiveness. Amen.

Are you causing anyone to sin? If so, obey God and go seek forgiveness.

Luke 15: 11-24

11Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.

13“Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. 14After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. 15So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

17“When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired men have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.’ 20So he got up and went to his father.

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

21“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.

22“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. 24For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.” NIV

Merciful Father-
I am sorry that I took my heavenly inheritance, ran away, and squandered it on worldly pleasures. Will you please forgive me for being so rebellious, selfish, and greedy? I tried to do things my way and look at the mess I’ve made! Please have mercy on me! I have sinned against heaven and against you. I do not deserve to be called your child. I’m sorry for the pain I’ve caused you. I am surprised that you never stopped loving me or looking for me. I never realized that I was such a valuable treasure to you. I was so foolish.

You are merciful and forgiving. I humbly come back to you seeking restoration. Thank you for accepting me with open arms just as I am – dirty and smelly from where I’ve been. Thank you for washing me and giving me an elegant robe of righteous so that I can be properly clothed to come to the party you’re throwing in honor of my homecoming. It’s good to be back home. There’s no place like it in heaven or on earth. It’s where I’m loved with everlasting love, safe, and can rest in peace. It’s where the fire can be lit in my heart and we can sit and talk. You tell me stories that teach me and help me to grow in spirit and strength. Thank you for welcoming me home. Home is where my heart is because of Jesus. Amen

Have you run away from the home of your loving Father? Do you need to seek his forgiveness? If so, run back. He’s waiting for you! If you’re already back home, join in the celebration by praising God for his love, faithfulness, patience, mercy, forgiveness and restoration.

Luke 12: 35-40

Jesus said, 35“Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. 39But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

Dear Jesus-
In the classroom of my heart there are so many valuable lessons when you are the Teacher. Please help me to concentrate and apply the things I am learning. Sometimes it’s hard to believe you, but all I have to do is look in my Old Testament history books and know that you will do the things you say you will do. I know you are coming back. I want to be dressed and ready for service. I want my lamp to be burning brightly with a Holy Spirit flame so that no matter when you come you will see the light on and know that I’m expecting you. When you knock I will immediately open the door, recognize you, and joyfully welcome you inside.
I will prepare my heart by:

  • Being authentic and sincere
  • Being ready to witness with boldness and courage
  • Trusting you and not worrying or fussing about unimportant things
  • Being generous with my time, talent, and treasures
  • Being diligent about the work you have given me to do

Please dear Lord create in me an acute awareness of who you are so that I will know you. I do not want you to catch me off guard when you show up. When you come I hope you will find me living out my faith and doing something that pleases you so that I will not be ashamed. Amen.

What do you need to do to get the home of your heart ready for a special visitor who may show up today?

Luke 12: 22-31

22Then turning to his disciples, Jesus said, "So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life--whether you have enough food to eat or clothes to wear. 23For life consists of far more than food and clothing. 24Look at the ravens. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because God feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than any birds! 25Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not! 26And if worry can't do little things like that, what's the use of worrying over bigger things?

27"Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 28And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? You have so little faith! 29And don't worry about food--what to eat and drink. Don't worry whether God will provide it for you. 30These things dominate the thoughts of most people, but your Father already knows your needs. 31He will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.
(NLT)

Jesus-
You are such a tender loving Teacher. This is one of the hardest lessons for me to comprehend. Please stick with me until I figure it out! Every day I worry about:

  • Life – What if this or that happens?
  • Food – What should I put in my stomach today? Low fat or low carbs? How many calories and how much fiber does it contain?
  • Body – Am I too short, too tall, too fat, or too skinny! What if I don't get to the gym today? What will people think of me?
  • Clothing – What should I wear today? Black, brown, blue, white, blue, green, red, yellow? Do I look good in this?

I have become so consumed chasing after meaningless things. Life is about so much more. Forgive me Father for worrying about things that have no lasting value. You know my needs, why can’t I trust you to provide? All I need to do is look around. I see how you provide for the birds. They don’t ruffle their feathers and fuss about the color they’re wearing or whether or not their body is fit. They don’t reap, or sow, or store up food. They simply trust in your provision. I walk through beautiful fields of wildflowers and gaze with wonder on their splendid appearance yet they did not work to make themselves look glamorous. They simply trusted you to dress them and make them look stunningly gorgeous.

Lord, I just need more grace to believe: that I am more valuable than birds and flowers, and you are the God of the universe whose grace is sufficient for all my needs. Please help me to make time to sit at your feet because it’s in your presence that I get to know you and the way you work. When I communicate my needs to you with thanksgiving you promise to guard my heart and mind and fill me with perfect peace. Jesus I will trust you today because I believe you are all I need. Amen.

What are the unimportant things that you worry about each day? Make a list. Post it some place where you will see it. As you find yourself becoming consumed with them, take them to the Cross and leave them there.

Matthew 23: 23-28

Jesus said, 23"How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you ignore the important things of the law--justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things. 24Blind guides! You strain your water so you won't accidentally swallow a gnat; then you swallow a camel!

25"How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! You are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy--full of greed and self-indulgence! 26Blind Pharisees! First wash the inside of the cup, and then the outside will become clean, too.

27"How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs--beautiful on the outside but filled on the inside with dead people's bones and all sorts of impurity. 28You try to look like upright people outwardly, but inside your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.”

Dear Jesus,
Sometimes your teaching really hurts and today is one of those times. I am reminded just how much I am like the Pharisees. I have a lot of head knowledge that hasn’t been transferred to my heart because there’s a stiff neck in between. I’m often too busy trying to do the right thing that I lose sight of the most important thing - my relationship with You. Forgive me for trying to look upright outwardly, when inwardly my heart is empty and needs a lot more of Jesus.

Father, here I am again surrendering all there is of me to all there is of you. Shine your light on my heart and expose the darkness of my sin. Wash me Jesus. Purify my heart. Cleanse me from the inside out so that my heart will sparkle on the inside like my body does on the outside. When I am squeezed by difficult circumstances I want Jesus to pour out of me rather than anger, impatience, greed, selfishness, bitterness, jealousy, pride, gossip, and all other kinds of sin.

By your grace I will choose to sit at your feet because I love and adore you and want to learn to have a heart like yours. I long for holiness, faithfulness, and righteousness. Take my heart and form it. Take my mind, transform it. Take my will, conform it to yours, O Lord so that the next time I encounter a difficult person or challenging situation you will ooze out of me because I am filled with your Spirit. Amen.

How is your heart today? Are you playing religion or enjoying sweet fellowship with the Savior? Hand him your sin stained cup and he will wash it from the inside out with pure Living Water.

Luke 12: 1-9

1Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying:

"Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. 2There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. 3What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.

4"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. 5But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. 6Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

8"I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God. 9But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God."

My Jesus,

What a Teacher you are! Thanks for the warning you've given me today to be on guard against hypocrisy. As your disciple the temptation is great to put on a facade and make myself appear holy, righteous, and pure to receive admiration and praise from people, but you know my heart. It doesn't always line up with my actions. Forgive me God! In desperation to be accepted by people I sometimes compromise my values and my faith.

Thank you for reminding that I am your friend and of great value to you. You know me intimately, down to the number of hairs on my head, and love me with an everlasting love despite all my flaws and imperfections. Help me to live by your standard of love and acknowledge you always so that when you come you will know me and present me to the angels of God. I long to hear you say, "This is my friend whom I love."

Please dear Lord, just give me more of the Holy Spirit so that my lips will proclaim the love in my heart, my attitudes will reflect that I am your valued and loved friend, and my actions will line up with my beliefs. I want to a wholly devoted disciple. Please guard my heart for Jesus the One and Only. Amen.

Do your actions line up with your faith?

Luke 11: 14-22

14Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. 15But some of them said, "By Beelzebub, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons." 16Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven.

17Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: "Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall... 20But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you.

21"When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. 22But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils."

O God of Wonders-
How can hearts be so cold and hard? They saw your amazing miracles right before their very eyes and couldn’t believe that the kingdom of God had arrived with Jesus. You pointed your finger and accomplished your mission, but still they did not believe. Father, it’s the same today. We’ve seen your marvelous wonders and do not accept that they are from you.

Please protect your church by uniting us in love … a house divided against itself will not fall. Unite us as your followers regardless of denomination or theology. There is power and strength in unity. When we are bound together in love the world will see you and believe. Father, forgive us for squabbling amongst ourselves and giving Satan the lead he desires. It nauseates me to think that he could be exalted because of our cold, selfish hearts.

Father, I don’t like acknowledging Satan, but today you have shown me the need to recognize that he is real and he is strong and can easily overpower me. Thank you for the reminder that you are stronger and no match for him. Lord, I aware that the enemy has an arsenal of weapon’s he’s ready to use against me: deception, doubt, discouragement, fear, depression, bitterness, loneliness, immorality, shame, despair, boredom … But I know that I will overcome because Emmanuel is with me, and He who is in me is stronger than He who is in the world. I will put on the full armor you’ve provided for protection: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation. I will write your words on my heart and pray without ceasing.
I believe you are a mighty warrior and will deliver me from evil and temptation. Please dear

Lord, fill me with more of your Holy Spirit so that I can take my stand against the enemy in your strength and might because of Jesus. Amen

Read Eph 6: 13-18. Reflect on it, thinking about each piece of the armor. Then, pray through it and put on each and every piece to protect your heart today.

Luke 10: 38-42

38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"

41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

Precious Jesus-
How many times do you need to teach me this lesson before it sticks? Thank you for being mercifully patient with me. Forgive me for sacrificing joy and satisfaction on the altar of self-appointed service.
Thank you for teaching me again that it’s best to open my heart before opening my home. Lord, please keep me from being distracted when I am serving you. Help me to be more organized so that I can keep the "pre" in preparation and have my work done in advance so that I can enjoy your company. Give me discernment to know when to stop serving in order to hear from your heart. I recognize that service is good, but please don’t let Satan use it to make me too busy to pursue intimacy with you. Slow me down, Jesus and tell me what’s important to you. Tell me your agenda when I’m sitting at your feet and give me the time and energy to accomplish it, and I will obey. Many things are important, but only one thing is necessary: my relationship with You!

Help me dear Lord, to choose my priorities wisely in the midst of many good choices, with You always being first, then my spouse, followed by my family, and then ministry to others. At your feet I pray. Amen

What do you need to reprioritize in your life so that you can make Jesus the priority? Identify it and obey.

Luke 10: 25-37

25On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

26"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

27He answered: " ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’"

28"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."
29But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

30In reply Jesus said: "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. 35The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"

37The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."

Sweet Jesus-
O how I love you! You are the best teacher! Thank you for reminding me who my neighbor is! Forgive me for:

  • All the times I’ve injured someone and walked away like the robber.
  • All the times I’ve chosen to pass by and ignore those in need because I’m so self-righteous like the religious leaders.
  • All the times I’ve tried to justify my lack of love and stood around and talked about it like the expert in the law.
  • All the times I’ve seen a need and tried to capitalize on it like the innkeeper.
Help me Father, to be like the Samaritan who was the least among all of these, yet the greatest. Please change my heart of stone to a heart of flesh. Show me an injured soul today – someone who is different from me in race, creed, or social background and I will stop and help even if it’s inconvenient. This will not be easy or natural, so please just give me more of the Holy Spirit through whom I pray. Amen.

Look for someone today who is different from you in race, creed or social background and stop whatever you are doing to help them even if it is inconvenient.

Luke 10: 17-21

17The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."
18He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."
21At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure."

Jesus-
I am rejoicing because of the things we’ve accomplished in the work of the gospel. I am so excited because even the demons submitted to us in your name. I saw it! It happened just like you said it would. Wow! You are awesome, amazing and wonderful! There is power in your name! Thank you for giving me authority and power to defeat the enemy. As you fill me fresh each day with more of the Holy Spirit through your Word and prayer, I will humbly exercise the authority you’ve given me to be victorious over the Prince of Darkness. Please keep my heart pure and don’t let me become full of pride. It is only because of Your Name and Your Power in me that I am able to accomplish these things. Apart from you I am nothing.

Lord, I know that you are ecstatic about the things I’ve accomplished in your name, but thank you for reminding me that my accomplishments are not the reason to be happy. I will celebrate even if I accomplish nothing because my name is written in heaven. I will be merry because I am your child and your home is my home. I praise you God, my Father! I come to you like a child, dancing because I have access to God Most High, my Abba, Daddy who is King of kings, and Lord of lords and who is above all power!

Lord, I am joyful because your all-surpassing greatness shines through a weak and dependent child like me. What a treasure I’ve found because I believe in You and Your unlimited authority even though I cannot see. Thank you for giving me faith to believe. Please just give me more of Jesus so that my faith increases and even in the worst circumstances I will have Jesus joy in my heart. Amen.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections. Pray to receive Jesus joy right now. It's yours to claim because you are a child of God and His mansion is your mansion.

Luke 10: 1-3

1The Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3Go! I am sending you..."

Father-
You are such an awesome teacher! I marvel at the way you teach me each day as I take time to sit at your feet. Thank you that I am not called to "go" alone. Thank you for each and every companion you send with me in the work of the gospel. Today you showed me that two are better than one because we can help each other and provide strength to one another as we go about your work. We can encourage each other and pick one another up after a fall. We can protect each other and hold one another accountable. As a team who has witnessed your miracles, our testimony is more powerful and believable. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

The harvest is right here in my neighborhood. Please dear Lord, help me to mobilize a prayer team, and send other faithful disciples to join me in reaching out to my unsaved and needy neighbors. And Lord, please let them see Jesus in me through my words and actions. I am trusting you for an abundantly fruitful harvest because of Jesus. Amen.

Who is ripe for picking in your neighborhood? How can you show Jesus to them and pluck the fruit?
